Another weekend with Gala CC riders competing in a tough event. Well done to Julian Howell and Ross Johnston, racing in a UK National CX event!
I’ll hand over to Julian for his race report…

The Callendar Park race was #3 in the UK cyclocross National Trophy series.
The last one in Scotland was in Ayr 2 years ago. The Scottish CX series regularly race at Callendar Park – but this one was upgraded for a Trophy race!
Some new stairs, an extra drop in, and a steep downhill that could have come from a MTB course.
Lots of Scottish participation amongst the 600 racers – and Peebles racer Corran Carrick-Anderson won the Senior race.

Other notable performances from Gala CC racer Ross Johnston in the v40 – returning from injury; and Julian Howell in the v50 – very pleased with a top 50 finish!

Final comment from RK: the photo of the guy on the pink bike, I’m not sure who he is but it’s a stunning photo that captures the amazingly skilful running mount, one of the many risks taken by a CX racer which, if timed incorrectly, may presumably end in tears!
