It was only a matter of TTime…
Last night finally saw the first round of the rescheduled Windydoors (Gordon Route) TT.
On a warm but slightly blustery night, 9 of us took to the course ready to do battle with the undulating terrain and twisty descents.
The age-old debate between most of us on which bike was best to use was nullified this time, as we all opted to ride road bikes.
I think I was the only one looking for more aero gains and so used my rear disc wheel on an otherwise normal road bike set up.
First off was Russell, who kicked things off nicely with a cracking time.
He was followed by Martin, Andy, Jeremy, Duncan, big Neil Shepherd, Arran, myself, with Jack setting off last.
The winner on the night was J…..ack!
He put in an absolutely monstrous ride to finish in a 24:44.
Starting only about a month ago, he has been putting in some sensational times in long TT’s on his road bike, so tonight was his time to shine.
We all knew it was only a matter of time so congratulations to Jack for a super ride.
Second was myself at 24:46, with joint 3rd going to Arran and Neil in 25:49.
Sharing a car wasn’t enough boys??
Full results:
00:24:44 Jack Moore
00:24:46 Joe Agnew
00:25:49 Neil Shepherd
00:25:49 Arran Gannicot
00:26:15 Duncan MacLeod
00:29:02 Andrew Howett
00:29:54 Jeremy Weston
00:31:48 Martin Smith
00:32:07 Russell Carson
Well done everyone.
A big thank you goes, as always, to our marshalls and timekeepers.
This club relies entirely on these guys allowing us to race every week, it simpler wouldn’t be doable without them, so a big thank you must go to you all.
Next week is a 10 mile tt at Bridgehaugh.
Likely to be the last chance of a rapid time this year unless we also ditch the last Maxton one for this course, but hopefully get a big turnout and see if anyone can bring some new folk to add to our numbers and enjoy the atmosphere!
